Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Avalon Description

Avalon features 3 bases total. One base holding the flag with an inventory station. One main base containing generators and stations at the top, A side base that holds the only repair pack near the base. Their is one forward AA turret. This means that the exterior defenses are extremely light. It is critical to attempt to weaken enemy attackers on the way over. There are three bunkers located in the middle of the map. Containing a small amount of supplies. The two side bunkers contain healing items and grenades. The central base contains packs. This map requires use of a vehicle typically. So try your best to keep your base and vehicle pad up and running. This has some very good skiing paths along the sides of the base.

Tribes Aerial Assault Beggars Run

Map Features

  • Two Linear Flag Bases
  • Terrain: Tall hills, misty valleys
  • Climate: Foggy

Tribes Aerial Assault Beggars Run

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Beggars Run Description

This CTF map gives each team a large base with two small towers on each side and one tower in the center. The central tower nest a flag on the top and underneath a base with inventory stations. It has a basement with inventory stations inside as well. On the outer towers nests a turret on one side and the sensor on the other. This is a smaller map and the action is fierce. Attempt to avoid getting stuck to the cacti which lay in the way of ski paths. We recommend switching the turret on this map to an AA turret or a mortar barrel. Depending upon your style of defense. If using the AA turret someone must defend it from either side. As you can take a ski path opposite of the turret side and avoid it firing at all. So flag defense is critical on this map.

A small base is located directly behind the flag stand on the top of the hill. There is also another smaller tower base for each team located up the hill from the main base. It has tall hills separating the  Team Inferno and Team Storm bases. The main base is equipped with a missile turret to start. This is great for defending the flag if you can keep it from being attacked.

  • Terrain: Alternating Plains and Mountains

Tribes Aerial Assault Death Birds Fly

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Death Birds Fly Description

This is a very large CTF map with a main base and a small sub base. The sub base for each team is located near the enemies main base. There are large hills on the exterior of the zone and wide open Plains in the middle. There are repair patches located in the rock pillars in the middle of the plains. These can be useful for flag runners. While the wide open plains can also leave you exposed to enemy vehicles. Be weary of the mortar turret on the main base. They are deadly accurate and will cause fits when trying to snatch the enemy flag.

Dessicator

Tribes Aerial Assault Desiccator

Tribes Aerial Assault Desiccator

  • Capture the Flag

Tribes Aerial Assault Desiccator

Map Features

  • Towers with flags protected by forcefields
  • Vehicle Station
  • Terrain: Tall Mesas, Deep Valleys
  • Climate: Dusty Desert with low visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Desiccator

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Desiccator Description

Each team is provided with three towers. The two close to each other provide most of the base functions as well as hold the flag. The third tower contains the generators which power the forcefield around the flag. Typically the team who keeps the flag shield generators up the most wins on this map. It doesn't see play that much due to the fact that it requires two fairly organized teams to make it fun and competitive.

  • Capture and Hold

Tribes Aerial Assault Firestorm

Map Features

  • Two bases, Random meteor showers
  • Terrain: Volcanic Basin
  • Climate: Clear visibility, Random meteor showers that deal damage

Tribes Aerial Assault Firestorm

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Firestorm Description

Firestorm consists of one main base for each team. In Capture and hold game types. There is one large control point located in the center of the map. In Capture the flag each flag is on the runway at the end of the corresponding base. Each team base contains 2 inventory stations surrounded by forcefields on 3 sides. There are no generators so unlike Dessicator these shields can't be dropped. There are no vehicles on this small map but there is a crashed fighter in the map. The center of the map has bridges on each side. The map is small enough you can jump from one base to the other in light armor fairly easily. So in this map expect flag standoffs a majority of the time. Be careful where you place remote equipment. As the meteors will destroy anything they hit, players included.

Tribes Aerial Assault Katabatic

Map Features

  • Large flag bases with outlying towers
  • Vehicle station at main base
  • Inventory stations at side tower along with pulse sensor
  • Terrain: Steep Mountains, Flat Valleys
  • Climate: Arctic, slight fog

Tribes Aerial Assault Katabatic

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Katabatic Description

Katabatic is an arctic map. The main flag bases are huge. Having a vehicle station, top mounted turret, and a forward turret for defenses. There are multiple inventory stations inside as well as the generators. So try to keep enemies from getting inside. As there is plenty of room to hide inside this massive base. The side bases hold inventory stations as well as the pulse sensor atop. These are in the middle of the map. So occasionally you can make a quick run with the flag and stop there to refill. Watch out for enemy vehicle traffic and keep at least one heavy defending the flag along with medium armor support.

Tribes Aerial Assault Paranoia

Map Features

  • Closely positioned bases
  • Terrain: Rolling hills
  • Climate Temperate, good visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Paranoia

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Paranoia Description

This map places both teams bases very close together. Thus it's namesake Paranoia. As chaos ensues in this fast paced map. Each base consists of centralized inventory stations with generators below. The exterior of the base offers a turret at each side. A pulse sensor resides on top of the flag stand with a small sentry turret there as well. The turrets offer some level of defense for teams and we suggest trying to keep them up during the game. Our preferred choice is to swap these out to mortar barrels, though missile barrels or aa turrets are also an effective tool. This map is equivalent to Nuketown on Call of Duty. With the high paced non stop action. Paranoia to this day stands as many players favorite Tribes Aerial Assault map. Keep scrolling for more tribes tdm maps.

Tribes Aerial Assault Quagmire

  • Capture the Flag

Tribes Aerial Assault Quagmire

Map Features

  • Two Bases, One Flag Base
  • Terrain: Medium Size Mountains
  • Climate: Foggy, Very low Visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Quagmire

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Quagmire Description

This map features very dense fog. So visibility is very limited. Between the two side bases is the flag. It sits in a building by itself. On AADS servers the turret in front has been changed to an ELF turret. Tribes 2 players will know what those are. It basically is a beam that takes all your energy and then begins draining life. The generators are located in one of the side bases. So attack in tandem to drop those in order to get past the turret. It's typically difficult to destroy with missiles. As flag defenders will toss flares to save it. On one of the side bases there is a turret on top of it. You can use it to help wield off incoming light armors by deploying missile turret to it. If you swap the ELF turret to another type of turret. It is unable to be switched back. As ELF turrets are not an option in Tribes Aerial Assault. So typically people leave that one as an ELF. It is the most effective to protect the flag.

Tribes Aerial Assault Recalescence

  • Capture the Flag

Tribes Aerial Assault Recalescence

Map Features

  • Floating Bases
  • Vehicle pad
  • Terrain: Volcanic large mountains with a few flat paths
  • Climate: Hot Average Visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Recalescence

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Recalescence Description

This large map gives both teams a floating flag base. Teams also get a vehicle pad. The bases are fairly far apart. So taking some mode of transportation is typically the route to go. This map is the one you are most likely to load up heavies into a Transport and take over. The flag is located inside the center of the base. Directly above the generators. You can drop in from the very top of the base or go in through the side hallways and drop to the bottom level. This map is a challenge to get flags out of the base. So teamwork is critical. Both for taking the enemy flag and keeping your base up and running.

Tribes Aerial Assault Reversion

Tribes Aerial Assault Reversion

Map Features

  • One main base with flag and a forward smaller base
  • Vehicle pad
  • Terrain: Low Hills
  • Climate: Foggy with Relatively Low Visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Reversion

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Reversion Description

This Tribes Aerial Assault CTF map features a main base very similar to the Avalon map. The vehicle station is located in the rear of the base. There is also a forward base with a turret. The terrain is primarily rolling hills and the bases are quite a distance apart. So vehicles are a major factor on this map. We suggest arming your turrets with either AA turrets or missile turrets and have multiple defenders spam rockets along with the turrets. Making life difficult for enemy invaders.

Sanctuary

Tribes Aerial Assault Sanctuary

Tribes Aerial Assault Sanctuary

  • Capture the Flag

Tribes Aerial Assault Sanctuary

Map Features

  • Villa-style Base
  • Vehicle pad
  • Terrain: Tall Mountains with deep valleys
  • Climate: Temperate with average visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Sanctuary

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Sanctuary Description

Each main base is shaped like a square with the flag directly in the center. The low walls make this base fairly easy to reach the flag. The turrets on the outside of the base are largely ineffective. So a lot of remote turrets are typically placed to try to protect the flag. This map has high mountains and low valleys. Making it best suited for vehicle travel. The vehicle pad is located behind the main base. Typically there is a line there. So try to be efficient there. If you want some extra defense help for your flag and turrets. Create a transport and park it a bit away from your flag. It should stay there and give you an extra AA turret to fend off incoming hostiles. Just don't park it directly on top of the flag or it will be destroyed automatically. This map is fairly straight forward since there are only the main bases and space in between.

  • Vehicle pad
  • Terrain: Tall Mountains with deep valleys

Tribes Aerial Assault Slapdash

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Slapdash Description

Slapdash features spread out bases. Each team gets a tower with inventory stations and generators guarded by two turrets. The flag is out in the open in front of the base and vehicle station. Bombers are highly efficient on this map due to the open layout and fairly flat paths between larger hills. If you get adventurous. Located in the corner of the map is the Shazbot Statue. It's what the GTT tournament trophies took design from. There are also some bunkers near the edge of the play zone but they are relatively useless.

Thin Ice

  • Capture the Flag

Tribes Aerial Assault Thin Ice

Map Features

  • Flag base
  • Terrain: Mountains and plains
  • Climate: Arctic average visibility

Tribes Aerial Assault Thin Ice

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Thin Ice Description

This base throws all the tricks of the game out the window and strips thing's down to basic skills. There are no turrets, vehicles, etc. Just a main base with generators and inventory stations sitting out in a primarily flat open area of the  map. So basic skills are what typically win this map. The inventory stations are located in the basement of the map. So we recommend deploying a few remote stations near the top of the base. This will help your team be speedy enough to win. As a majority of the dueling is done in light armor on this map.  There are hills to the side of the map. But the center is largely flat or really low piles of snow. The map is really small so it becomes a fast paced duel for the flag often times.

Map Features

  • Main base and flag base located apart
  • Terrain: Moderate Hills
  • Climate: Foggy

Tribes Aerial Assault Tombstone

Tribes Aerial Assault Map: Tombstone Description

The flag base and main bases are very far apart on this map. The main base contains generators, inventory stations, sentry turrets. While the flag base has exterior turrets and a pulse sensor. But no inventory stations. So if you are going to defend the flag successfully. You must carry remote inventory over to the flag base and hide it well. It would also be smart for the team to escort a heavy over there making sure he makes a safe trip across the map to get into position. This map is rarely played. So you may never play it but that is all the tips we can offer for this unusual map. Hopefully they help.
